Dry Sail

Dry sailing is when you launch your boat each time you sail, and otherwise store it on land. The MCC Dry Sail facilities cater to centerboard sailing dinghies, small keelboats, and paddlers. Canoes, kayaks, and sailing dinghies up to 18 feet are hand-launched either by carrying down the ramp, or transported on a lightweight wheeled “dolly”. Larger Keel-Sailboats stored on road trailers can be launched using our fixed marine crane. Currently the maximum boat length is about 25 feet and weight up to 3500 lbs, but by Fall 2024 a new crane will increase this to 32 feet and 6000 lbs.

Adjacent docks alongside the ramp, designed for sailing dinghies low to the water, provide ease of boat handling. The sheltered harbour provides a comfortable venue for rigging, de-rigging, boat repair/maintenance, de-briefs and more.

As a member of MCC you have access to all on site amenities, club house, dining and social monogramming and events.

  • Other attractions include:
  • Close proximity of the dry sail mooring area to the launch ramp within a dedicated dry sail area
  • Adjacent ample car parking and loading/unloading area
  • Close proximity to washroom facility
  • Access to Thursday night racing offered at EYC
  • Access to MCC Wednesday race nights, depending on boat size and class
  • Access to a sheltered large harbor for novice and practice sailing, with close proximity to open lake sailing
  • Access to additional MCC race events, marine vendor demo days hosted seasonally
  • Late season sailing opportunity and early season shoulder months not available to in water moored boats
