Each year we try to provide at least eight "cruising" events for the members with themes and locations changing from year to year.
For the past several years, a curling bonspiel in February or March has signalled the start of the "cruising" year.
We next move to "on-the-water" cruises. There are usually at least eight cruises around the lake from May to September.
Each cruise is usually planned and organized by four committee members, (one of whom acts as lead) who decide the cruise's theme, they plan and organise cruise activities, communicate cruise information to members, manage the cruise budget, and most importantly, take part in the cruise. Generally the cruise lead spends about ten work hours over the two or three months leading up to their cruise; helpers typically spend three to five work hours in the preceding two months.
We finish up the year with a golf tournament in mid-to-late September!
